Midwest Contracting and Mfg., Inc.
This facility is located on I-70 which is halfway between Kansas City and Denver, it sets on approximately 5.1 acres of land. They manufacture and distribute child and adult trikes and wagons across the US. They have just completed a large contract with the military to supply wagons for day cares on military bases in the US and abroad. The Company has a contract with an outside manufacturing company to supply them with wooden packing boards.
They also produce movable livestock buildings that can be for protection from the outside elements, or can be equipped with working shuts for the livestock medical purposes.
The Main Shop has 19,501 sq. ft. with an additional out building which contains another 3,072 sq. ft. This second building has a 400 foot continuous paint line and is also used to accommodate customer drop shipping storage requirements. Both buildings are metal and each have large overhead doors for the oversized product being produced or for the large repair job coming in for repair. Equipment consists of seven overhead cranes with one and two ton capacity. Several hydraulic presses that range in size from 80 to 250 tons, six foot plate roll, eight wire welders, plasma cutter, two lathes, Bridgeport cold saw, band saw and miscellaneous power and hand tools. This plant can handle any metal fabrication from a prototype to full production runs, it has the capability to fabricate a single part or a completed product.
The land and building are in an excellent location to establish an oil patch yard. The main building is large enough an entire rig could be moved inside the building for major repairs or to be rebuilt with very little modification. At one point the company fabricated tank batteries, stock tanks and other oil field equipment needed in the oil patch today. Much of the equipment needed for this process is still available. An employee base is in place to provide the knowledge and the skills to use the equipment and produce the products needed for your company.
This facility is one of the most complete metal fabrication facilities in Central and Western Kansas. Anyone that needs to expand their current facilities or to start a new metal fabrication plant, YOU MUST SEE this one.
As marketing increases so does production, there has been some efficiencies and cost cutting in place the past couple of years. The staff is highly trained and can produce most any metal product needed for commercial use.
Local Economic Development funds are available for equipment and re-tooling.
